Once again, Grace Kids has the wonderful opportunity to participate in the Great Commission this summer as we minister to countless families and their children through Vacation Bible School, June 17–20. We are excited to share the gospel with the children of both our church and the community in the hope that many will become disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ.

This year’s theme is “God’s Good Garden,” focusing on our God as the good Creator who has promised to rescue and restore His people. Our prayer is that the children who join us this summer will see the goodness of God through His gracious gospel.

Throughout the week, they will learn that a very good God created a very good world and dwelt with His people (Genesis 1:31). They will discover that corruption and death entered the world through the sinful disobedience of Adam and Eve and that this very good God had to punish a very bad world (Genesis 3). They will then learn that God always had a plan to save sinners through the sacrifice of His promised Messiah—Jesus Christ (Gen. 3:15; John 16:33)—and that it would be in another garden that Jesus would rise from the grave and conquer death (John 19:41). Finally, they will see the goodness of God as He promises once more to create a new world where He dwells with His people forever (Revelation 22:1–3). We pray that this week of truth-filled fun will bring many children to a saving knowledge of Christ.

We are overwhelmed at God's kindness to continue to grow our VBS since we began this ministry almost a decade ago. We anticipate that this year will again bring over 1,000 children to fill our campus. This is an incredible opportunity for our church to proclaim and uphold God’s truth while exemplifying the love and care that our Savior has for children.

Grace Kids has been actively planning for this week, and we want to invite you to join us! Here are three practical ways our church family can help.

  1. Pray. Pray for the children, their families, and the members of our community who participate in VBS. Pray that the gospel of Jesus Christ would be communicated clearly and that hearts would be receptive to God’s saving truth.
  2. Volunteer. We are looking for volunteers to help during the week of VBS with set-up, small groups, games, crafts, food, and more—all with the goal of planting seeds for the gospel. Volunteer registration opens today, April 6.
  3. Give. If you are unable to volunteer but would still like to assist in the ministry, consider donating financially. VBS is free to all children who attend, and financial gifts help us to continue offering VBS at no cost to families.

We hope you will join us for VBS this summer. We are excited to see how the Lord will use this week to make an impact for eternity!
