As the sovereign creator of all things and the giver and sustainer of life, God not only allots to each believer a specific number of days to live, but also endows specific talents, abilities, gifts of the Spirit, and material possessions. And every one of the millions and millions of saints throughout the ages is unique in what we receive from God to be used for His glory.
Romans 14:10–12 says that one day all believers will stand before the judgment seat of God, known as the Bema, and that Christ will reward each person for what He did through them with what He gave to them.
Our prayer is that we might see our earthly lives in light of eternity and therefore make better choices with our time, our resources, and our privileges, and that we would more passionately desire and commit to bring glory to God each day with all our hearts, souls, minds, and strength.
