Every member of Grace Community Church has the privilege and joy of using their God-given spiritual gifts to serve and strengthen the body of Christ. One of the most exciting opportunities to do this is through Shepherds Conference, a ministry that allows our church family to discover, develop, and faithfully use the gifts the Lord has entrusted to us.
Every March, our church unites to host thousands of pastors and leaders from around the world for Shepherds Conference. Together, we have the privilege of expressing our gratitude to Christ and to His under-shepherds through humble, joyful service. Whether it’s greeting guests, preparing meals, assisting with campus care, or serving behind the scenes, every act of service helps refresh and encourage those who labor faithfully in the Word.
This year’s theme is “Servant of the Word: The Life and Ministry of John MacArthur.” For 56 years, Pastor John faithfully proclaimed the Word of God and modeled a ministry rooted in Scripture, conviction, and grace. This year’s conference will celebrate his steadfast example—his unwavering defense of the Lordship of Christ, his commitment to the sufficiency of Scripture, and the global impact of his faithful stewardship of God’s truth. This year’s conference will encourage attendees to look to John’s example and, ultimately, to the Chief Shepherd, who is building His church through the ministry of faithful shepherds under His charge.
As volunteers, we have a special opportunity to honor the Lord by caring for those who shepherd His flock. Every meal served, every guest welcomed, every task completed—each one is an act of worship that magnifies Christ and supports His work throughout the world.
“As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10
