by William Guthrie
Perhaps the best Puritan work on the doctrine of assurance. The Puritan theologian John Owen stated, “I have written several folios [on the topic], but there is more divinity in it [The Christian's Great Interest] than in them all.” William Guthrie lived from 1620–1669, and served as a minister of Fenwick, Ayrshire, from 1650–1664.
