Thanksgiving Letter

Thanksgiving is the constant refrain of the Christian life. Our gratitude, anchored in God’s sovereignty, is expressed through prayer and supplication (Phil 4:6). What a joy it was to witness this spirit of prayerful thanksgiving displayed during October, our month of prayer at Grace Community Church. This ongoing outpouring of prayer flows naturally from our deep thankfulness for God’s abundant grace and mercy (1 Thess 5:18).

As we approach this Thanksgiving season, I want to bring an urgent matter to your attention: the increasing assault on Christian families, which I have addressed in The War on Children. The systematic attack on biblical morality is accelerating, particularly in the field of education. Many schools and curricula have succumbed to this war against truth, replacing genuine learning with indoctrination and embracing deception over the clear teaching of God’s Word. Exposing our children to such deception in secular schools is dangerous to their souls.

In response to this cultural decline, Grace Community Church remains unwavering in its commitment to serve as a storehouse of biblical truth for families. We are dedicated to providing faithful, Christ-honoring educational options that will safeguard the next generation in a world hostile to truth.

God has entrusted parents with the sacred responsibility of educating their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord (Deut 6:6–7). Grace Education, a ministry of our church, is designed to support families in fulfilling this divine mandate. Offering home-based, hybrid, and on-campus learning opportunities, Grace Education encompasses programs like Faith Christian PSP, Grace Academy, and Legacy Christian Academy, all of which aim to cultivate biblically faithful education. These initiatives also support pathways to Christian higher education, including preparation for studies at The Master’s University. Additionally, we are developing biblically faithful curricula to equip both our church and others with Christ-centered teaching resources.

This Thanksgiving, I invite you to join me in prayerfully supporting Grace Academy, which provides a K–8 hybrid education led by professional teachers. Combining on-site and at-home instruction, Grace Academy is uniquely positioned to meet the educational challenges of our time. Your support will enable us to offer scholarships to families in need, enhance classroom resources, and plan for future expansions, including the development of a high school.

Let us remember that the education of our children has eternal significance. By God’s grace, the ongoing efforts of our church will continue to provide instruction that prepares our children not just for this life but for eternity—all for the glory of God.

Yours for the Truth,

John MacArthur
