Schedule for this fall semester's Sunday Seminars, taking place at 9 and 11 am in T260 on Sunday mornings.
9 am: Chris Hamilton teaching, "Biblical Parenting, Part 1: Birth to Teens." The family is under intense pressure from government intrusion, cultural influences, and false parenting philosophies and methodologies. Confusing and unhelpful parenting advice is often found in “Christian” books, web sites, and podcasts. This seminar will focus on the good news: that the Bible provides clear truth, and that truth forms the basis for parenting that is consistent with the Bible and benefits your children.
11 am: Mark Zhakevich teaching, "How to Ready, Study, and Teach the Bible," Part 3. This seminar will equip you with the tools and confidence to study the Scripture and apply its timeless truths. Whether you are a new Christian or have walked with the Lord for years, learning to read, study, and teach God’s Word faithfully is foundational to spiritual growth and ministry. Join us as we seek to grow in our understanding and love for the Bible so that we may be transformed by its power and equipped to share its truth with others.
9 am: Chris Hamilton teaching, "Biblical Parenting, Part 2: Parenting Boys."
11 am: Jon Rehurek teaching, "Fundamentals of the Faithful Steward, Part 1: Biblical Worldview & Heart Attitudes."
This class is designed to challenge your heart attitudes and transform your thinking through exposure to what God has to say about handling finances in His Word. Both the principles and practices of biblical stewardship are covered in-depth in order to equip you to become a more faithful and trustworthy steward of the resources God has granted to you, focusing on the following uses of money: earning, living, giving, owing, and growing.
9 am: Chris Hamilton teaching, "Biblical Parenting, Part 3: Parenting Girls."
11 am: Jon Rehurek teaching, "Fundamentals of the Faithful Steward, Part 2: Earn (the Acquisition of Money through Work)."
9 am: Chris Hamilton teaching, "Biblical Parenting, Part 4: Preparing for Adulthood."
11 am: Jon Rehurek teaching, "Fundamentals of the Faithful Steward, Part 3: Live (the Use of Money to Meet Daily Expenses)."
9 am: Chris Hamilton leading a Parenting Q&A.
11 am: Jon Rehurek teaching, "Fundamentals of the Faithful Steward, Part 4: Give (the Use of Money to Give to the Church, Various Ministries, and to Meet the Needs of Others)."
9 am: George Crawford teaching, "The Mysteries of Christmas, Part 1." Merriam-Webster-Webster’s Dictionary defines the word “mystery,” in part, as “something not understood or beyond understanding.” In these two sessions, we want to focus on that, which properly understood, is “mysterious” about Christmas. As we go through the Advent season, and looking at significant Scripture passages and Christmas hymns, we’ll examine what is it about Christmas that defies human understanding. Rather than have a complacent familiarity which can lead to indifference, let’s remind ourselves of that in Christmas which defies comprehension and which should rightly induce a certain wonder and awe.
11 am: Jon Rehurek teaching, "Fundamentals of the Faithful Steward, Part 5: Owe (the Use of Money to Pay Back Debt Owed to a Lender)."
9 am: George Crawford teaching, "The Mysteries of Christmas, Part 2."
11 am: Jon Rehurek teaching, "Fundamentals of the Faithful Steward, Part 6: Grow (the Use of Money to Save and Invest in Order to Meet Short and Long-Term Goals)."
